St. Patrick’s Day Writing and Math!

March 4, 2023

March has come in rather lamb-ish for me this year and I am not complaining at all! I hope that the start of your month has brought you thoughts of spring and warmer weather on the horizon! Before we officially get there though I have some super fun activities for you to use for St. Patrick’s Day!

My Lucky Charms Writing Craft

Lucky Charms writing craft for elementary students

This CEREAL-sly could be the most CHARM-ing writing activity I’ve ever seen (see what I did there 😉). It is absolutely adorable and takes almost no prep! The best part is that this can be done with almost any grade level because there are so many different sheet options to choose from!

It will also make a great bulletin board because I’ve included two different sets of bulletin board letters and images for you to choose from.

Lucky Charms Math

If you are looking for a highly engaging, low prep math activity for St. Patrick’s Day look no further! For this activity you will need a box or two of Lucky Charms cereal (not just the fancy bag of marshmallows) and whatever sheets you choose to set your students loose sorting, counting, graphing, adding and comparing!

They will have a blast and be using multiple math skills all at once – a WIN WIN in my teacher book!

St. Patrick’s Day Flipbook

This little activity is a great way to share the history of St. Patrick’s Day with your students (I even learned quite a bit). I have always found that when you turn something into a flipbook, the students seem to be more engaged and this activity is no exception!

This is super easy to assemble too – just print double sided, fold and staple – DONE! Take it up a notch and print it on bright green paper and you’ve got yourself a sweet little afternoon social studies/writing project!

Pot o’ Gold Fact Families

Finally, if you need a super quick math activity for fact families, this is it! It can be used as a review or even as an exit activity. It is EDITABLE so that you can create the equations your students need. There are options for addition & subtraction and multiplication & division so it works for multiple grade levels!

Best part is, this activity doubles as a fast holiday bulletin board. Again – WIN WIN!

I hope these activities help you plan out your St. Patrick’s Day in a fun, engaging and academic way! Click on the images below to take you to each one in my TPT shop!
